Founded 1976
05 Dec 2006

Greenhill Lowedges was formed in 1976 with a single team run by Bert Brockelhurst and Mick Baker. In 1980 another team was added and this continued through the 80s with Greenhill Lowedges covering many age groups in local leagues.

In addition to forming teams, Greenhill Lowedges forged ties with Spykinesse (Holland), Zaventem (Belgium) and Westfalia – Dortmund (Germany). Greenhill Lowedges sent many teams to compete in a wide range of European tournaments and inviting them to ours at the Transport Ground here in Sheffield. This meant that the club formed many great friendships throughout Europe and some remain to this day.

Most, if not all, of the current managers were playing in local leagues at this time and have gone on to help today’s generations enjoy some outstanding facilities, offering first class organisation and success at all levels. The formation of our future greats starts here and it is our ambition to build a club with opportunity for all and hope for the disadvantaged.
