Report

Today was a case of "what might have been" in my opinion because we could have snatched a very valuable point after looking down and out at one stage.
The first half was a very tight affair with a couple of half chances falling to Young Owls. Both sides were very well organised and closed each other down well but the home side took the lead after half an hour when they got an extra man over on the left and his shot eluded Nick Harrison at the near post,.but in fairness he was given no chance.
Shortly after half time Young Owls doubled their lead when their striker burst through the defence and bundled the ball home.I felt maybe there should have been a stronger challenge from the defender but he was probably afraid of giving a penalty away.
Greenhill looked to be out of it and had to thank Nick for keeping them in the game with 2 or 3 class saves.
With 15 minutes to go the Young Owls keeper still hadn-t been tested but that suddenly changed.Half chances fell to William and Jake Smith but the ball didn-t seem to drop for them. Then Connor Thompson started to get some joy against the centre backs and got in behind them a couple of times and forced the keeper to make a fine stop with his feet.Reece White did manage to reduce the arrears with 10 to go with a well drilled shot from near the penalty spot.
Greenhill did try to press for what would have been an unexpected equaliser but it wasn-t to be.
On a positive note though they seem to have stopped making silly errors and that will always give them a fighting chance as today showed. They also showed great character to battle away when in the past they may have folded .
Better luck next time boys.
