Trials for Under 8's 2010 -2011 season

Thursday 3rd June 6pm to 7-30pm

Sunday 6th June 10am to 12pm

• Please call Rob (07887 631978)

Transport Gound - Meadow Head

How are we going to run the trials?

• The Thursday session (6pm to 7.30pm on 3rd June) will involve drills that will focus on technique and skills, as well as some small-sided games.

• The Sunday session (10am to 12noon on 6th June) will involve 6 a side games.
What types of players are we looking to sign for next year’s squad?

• We are looking for enthusiastic and committed players that will help further develop an already successful squad.

• ‘Team players’ – e.g., players who can play positions we ask of them, and support each other. Also, players who are comfortable passing the ball.

• Players who want to develop - i.e., boys / girls that are able to listen, learn and put into practice what we ask of them, with minimal fuss.

• Players that are available for every match during the season and training sessions, and are committed to the club for the full season. Whilst we understand of course that there will always be reasons why players would not be available (e.g., illness, holidays, etc.), without full commitment we simply couldn’t run a football team. For example, our players rarely miss more than two games each season through illness, holidays or other reasons.

Thank you for your interest

Would moving kids' football to a summer game help improve the development of young footballers?
Yes - better pitches mean a better chance to develop technique/skills
No - wouldn't make any real difference to development
Maybe - but I'd be worried about more injuries on firm pitches
